You will discover the great Loire RED WINES around SAINT-NICOLAS-DE-BOURGUEIL appellation areas. . Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil is a red wine made from the Cabernet-Franc variety, which locals call "breton". On the sand and gravel lands along the Loire, Vienne, and Indre rivers, wines are light, fruity, aromatic and pleasant in the prime of their youth, and can go with many dishes. They are called "sand" or "gravel" wines. "Limestone wines are more robust and tannic. They are thus characterised by the fact that they grow on limestone, this calciferous stone used to build the Loire valley châteaux. They are ideal for the ageing and team up with the finest dishes. Discover the cellar of your choice in:

Guided visit of LA JARNOTERIE VINEYARD -. SAINT-NICOLAS-DE-BOURGUEIL Located underneath the hillside's gentle slopes, several wine growers work on this area of nearly 1,000 ha which shelters the "divine nectar" in the la Cochamtorille cellars, a former limestone quarry over 7 km2. The site's large size and numerous galleries captivate visitors straight away. One does not wish to wander alone in this maze, but following our guide , as the lights are progressively turned on, the magic of this place springs forth: the wine matures in wooden barrels and ages in the silent, damp, cool atmosphere. An impressive visit that ends with a tasting of the latest vintage from the barrel, as well as other vintages having a raspberry and peach fragrance.
