SIGHTSEEING ALONG THE ROYAL
RIVER

Let
the peaceful grace of the Loire river banks take you to the very heart of the Loire Valley
which now belongs to the UNESCO Worldwide Heritage. This river dug its bed in the soft
local limestone called "tuffeau" where now, cave dwellings can be seen.. On the
slopes grow the Famous vineyards of Vouvray which produce the well known wines you will
taste. |

You will Navigate majestically on this royal river, between
islets of golden sand, and you will be seduced by the sweet luminous atmosphere and
natural richness. You will end the day by the visit of a museum unique in the world.
PROGRAMME
9:30 am
Guided visit of the "MUSEE DU COMPAGNONNAGE" in Tours. Unique in the world.
This museum tells the history, customs, and techniques of these training associations
which also defended the workers rights. You will discover a great variety of crafts still
existing or having disappeared, (locksmiths, confectioners, carpenters, roofers, etc.),
tools, all sorts of masterworks the "Compagnons" had to create to deserve
their title and honour "the fine work".

Meet at the Rochecorbon landing stage.3:00 p.m.
Leave on board of the "Saint-Martin-de-Tours", a pleasantly fitted out,
sheltered boat for a UNIQUE CRUISE WITH ENGLISH SPEAKING EXPLANATIONS ABOUT THE LOIRE
RIVER. Guaranteed relaxation in an exceptional setting. You will enjoy the natural
richness of the "Valley of the Kings, with its islands and birds. You will Discover
the splendid limestone cliffs along the royal river dug with their troglodyte dwellings,
bathed in soft light. Return to the landing stage.
